Course Description

If doing a triathlon is on your bucket list, then this is the triathlon for you! The Rookie Triathlon course begins with a short 300 meter loop swim in Decker Lake. The swim course is lined with trained lifeguards in kayaks to keep the event as safe as it is fun! Participants will make their way through transition to a 11.2 mile bike in a protected lane around the lake before returning for their transition to the run. The leads participants onto smooth off road paths through the park and back up the road path to the Finish Line Festival. From there participants join others and spectators for celebrating with food, drinks, vendors, and more! Those who are over 21 can visit the beer tent and cheers to their accomplishments.

Water Temperature & Quality

Historically, the water temperature has been around 76-78 degrees, so the swim will likely be wetsuit legal. Information regarding the water temperature will be posted in the news section of this web site as the event date approaches.

Finish Line Medical

The finish line medical tent is supplied to treat common triathlon related injuries and illness, and to begin stabilization procedures for more severe problems. Any race participant who requests assistance will be evaluated in the medical tent and treated based on event protocols for athlete medical care.
